Pět nejoblíbenějších námětů EDH decků

Před rokem vyšel úvodní článek do tohoto formátu, na který já tady volně navážu představením prvních pěti nejoblíbenějších námětů (themes) balíků na základně největší zahraniční EDH stránky.

Commander se za poslední roky v Magicu stává velmi populárním a rozšiřuje se i do základních setů, ve kterých Wizardi čím dál častěji podporují mechaniky oblíbené v commanderu a karty zaměřené na hry více hráčů. Tato větší oblíbenost zapříčiňuje i rostoucí ceny karet do EDH, které se za uplynulé dva roky někdy i zdvojnásobily. Můžete si také všimnout, že nyní v každé sadě vychází mnohem více legendárních bytostí, než bylo před několika lety nazpět běžné (s výjimkou Kamigawy), tento trend je spojený i s větším zájmem fanoušků o příběh každé sady, který si pochopitelně žádá své hrdiny a záporáky. A pokud je v některém formátu běžné klást důraz na lore a flavor každého balíku, tak je to určitě multiplayer EDH, kde si hráči mohou dovolit hrát karty, které by jinde neobstály. Nyní k samotnému žebříčku.

1. Artefakty

Na samém vrcholu oblíbenosti stojí balíky zaměřené na artefakty, equipmenty, vehicly a téma historic. Artefakty jsou pro svoji barevnou nenáročnost velmi oblíbené napříč všemi formáty, je to dáno také tím, že se hůře odstraňují ze hry než například bytosti, což pociťují zejména  a balíky. S tématem artefaktů si tradičně nejvíce rozumí  a , není tedy divu, že nejpopulárnější generál těchto decků je Breya, která spojuje tuto čtyřbarvu a svými různorodými schopnostmi dává největší možnost reagovat na konkrétní situaci na battlefieldu s velkým combo potenciálem. Dále jsou zde Daretti, Sydri a Sharuum, která se často hraje competitive na infinite comba.

Daretti, Scrap Savant can be your commander.

Sacrifice an artifact: Add {2} to your mana pool.

Sensei's Divining Top

{1}: Look at the top three cards of your library, then put them back in any order. {T}: Draw a card, then put Sensei's Divining Top on top of its owner's library.

Sword of the Meek

Equipped creature gets +1/+2. Equip {2} Whenever a 1/1 creature comes into play under your control, you may return Sword of the Meek from your graveyard to play, then attach it to that creature.

Sulfur Falls

Sulfur Falls enters the battlefield tapped unless you control an Island or a Mountain. {T}: Add {U} or {R} to your mana pool.

Tap two untapped artifacts you control: Ghirapur Aether Grid deals 1 damage to target creature or player.

Whenever an artifact is put into a graveyard from play, you may have target opponent lose 1 life.

Blightsteel Colossus

Trample, infect Blightsteel Colossus is indestructible. If Blightsteel Colossus would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, reveal Blightsteel Colossus and shuffle it into its owner's library instead.

Shimmer Myr

Flash You may cast artifact cards as though they had flash.

Myr Retriever

When Myr Retriever dies, return another target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand.

Darksteel Citadel

Indestructible (Effects that say "destroy" don't destroy this land.) {T}: Add {1} to your mana pool.

Ancient Den

(Ancient Den isn't a spell.) {T}: Add {W} to your mana pool.

Darksteel Forge

Artifacts you control are indestructible. ("Destroy" effects and lethal damage don't destroy them.)

Fabricate

Search your library for an artifact card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

Exotic Orchard

{T}: Add to your mana pool one mana of any color that a land an opponent controls could produce.

Thopter Assembly

Flying At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control no Thopters other than Thopter Assembly, return Thopter Assembly to its owner's hand and put five 1/1 colorless Thopter artifact creature tokens with flying onto the battlefield.

Restoration Angel

Flash Flying When Restoration Angel enters the battlefield, you may exile target non-Angel creature you control, then return that card to the battlefield under your control.

Rhystic Study

Whenever an opponent plays a spell, you may draw a card unless that player pays {1}.

Muddle the Mixture

Counter target instant or sorcery spell. Transmute {1}{U}{U} ({1}{U}{U}, Discard this card: Search your library for a card with converted mana cost equal to this card's, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. Play this ability only any time you could play a sorcery.)

Dimir Aqueduct

Dimir Aqueduct comes into play tapped. When Dimir Aqueduct comes into play, return a land you control to its owner's hand. {T}: Add {U}{B} to your mana pool.

Dimir Signet

{1}, {T}: Add {U}{B} to your mana pool.

Cyclonic Rift

Return target nonland permanent you don't control to its owner's hand. Overload {6}{U} (You may cast this spell for its overload cost. If you do, change its text by replacing all instances of "target" with "each.")

Grand Architect

Other blue creatures you control get +1/+1. {U}: Target artifact creature becomes blue until end of turn. Tap an untapped blue creature you control: Add {2} to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to cast artifact spells or activate abilities of artifacts.

Nim Deathmantle

Equipped creature gets +2/+2, has intimidate, and is a black Zombie. Whenever a nontoken creature is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, you may pay {4}. If you do, return that card to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it. Equip {4}

Wurmcoil Engine

Deathtouch, lifelink When Wurmcoil Engine is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put a 3/3 colorless Wurm artifact creature token with deathtouch and a 3/3 colorless Wurm artifact creature token with lifelink onto the battlefield.

Pili-Pala

Flying {2}, {Q}: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. ({Q} is the untap symbol.)

Crumbling Necropolis

Crumbling Necropolis comes into play tapped. {T}: Add {U}, {B}, or {R} to your mana pool.

Sharuum the Hegemon

Flying When Sharuum the Hegemon comes into play, you may return target artifact card from your graveyard to play.

Tezzeret the Seeker

+1: Untap up to two target artifacts. -X: Search your library for an artifact card with converted mana cost X or less and put it into play. Then shuffle your library. -5: Artifacts you control become 5/5 artifact creatures until end of turn.

2. Lifegain

Pokud většina hráčů něco dělá rádo, tak je to přidávání životů, čímž nepotěšíte zejména aggro jakékoliv kombinace . Není divu, že se balíky zaměřené na získávání životů a jejich následné využití jako zdroje staly druhým nejoblíbenějším námětem. Dvojbarva dávající této mechanice vše potřebné je , proto i téměř každý generál obsahuje tuto kombinaci, nejhranější z nich je Oloro, který se zároveň umísťuje vysoko v žebříčcích nejotravnějších commanderů. Následují legendy z Orzhovu: Karlov, Obzedat a Teysa. S vysáváním životů si skvěle rozumějí i upíři pod vedením Edgara. Jako win-kondice se počítá i Sanguine Bond a Exquisite Blood nebo přímočarý Aetherflux Reservoir.

3. +1/+1 žetony

Na třetím místě je téma, se kterým nejlépe spolupracuje  a  kombinace. Cíl je jednoduchý: pomocí enchantmentů jako Hardened Scales nebo Inexorable Tide a bytostí, které vstupují s žetony, nebo mají schopnost evolve, naskládat co nejvíce žetonů na bytosti. Buď posílit armádu tokenů nebo udělat jednu velkou bytost např. Kalonian Hydru a jednoduše přejet soupeře silou. Atraxa těmto balíkům jako generál dominuje díky spojení všech čtyř barev, které využívají žetony a schopnosti proliferate na konci vašeho kola. Z kombinace simic se ještě často hraje Ezuri a Vorel, abzan má své zástupce také: Anafenza a Ghave. Taktika ovšem většinou zůstává vždy stejná.

4. Wheel

Tyto balíčky nabízejí více možných strategií, ale všechny vycházejí z card draw a discard mechanik, ze kterých získáte nějaké výhody navíc, buď v podobě tokenů (The Locust God), ztráty oponentových životů (Nekusar) nebo udělení poškození (Niv-Mizzet). V tomto vám pomáhají karty jako: Windfall, Reforge the Soul nebo Magus of the Wheel. Zajímavým generálem je Arjun, který nabízí úplně jiný styl hraní, než na který jsou hráči obvykle zvyklí. Jak lze vidět u wheel decků převládá  kombinace s nejlepším přístupem k braní karet a přímému poškození. Balík většinou vyhrává na karetní výhodu, narušování plánu protihráčů a udělené non-combat damage.

S equipmenty tradičně nejlépe souzní  a . Tyto balíky se často hrají na voltron, kdy pomocí různých equipmentů posílíte svého generála natolik, že jste schopni vyhrávat na commander damage. To se odráží i v prvních dvou nejpopulárnějších generálech: Sram, který efektivně řeší nedostatek card draw v bílé a Kemba, která si díky tokenům zase lépe poradí s obranou a případnými kouzly na obětování, na které jsou voltron balíky háklivé. Další generálové jsou kočky z Commander 2016: Arahbo, Nazahn a Balan. Vyloženě na commander damage se hrají generálové s velkými staty už v základu jako jsou Zurgo Helmsmasher a Ruhan. Balík je založen na silných equipmentech jako Swiftfoot Boots, Hammer of Nazahn, Argentum Armor nebo známých Swords of XY, které umí efektivně vyhledat a levně aktivovat třeba Stoneforge Mystic a Puresteel Paladin.

Jak jste se v dnešním článku mohli dočíst, možných námětů je opravdu hodně a byť je těchto pět nejhranějších, tak jsou jen drobným zlomkem z celkových témeř šedesáti registrovaných. EDH je formát, který má hranice posunuté dále než zbylé formáty, postavět balík se dá téměř na jakékoliv téma, což je také dáno obrovským výběrem legendárních bytostí, které jen čekají na správné využití. O jednom z nich si můžete přečíst v tomto rozboru competitive Tasigura postaveného stylem, který jsem zde zatím neprobíral.

Jestli jste úplní začátečníci a rádi byste vyzkoušeli tento formát, tak sledujte naši stránku, protože se na toto téma zaměřím někdy přístě.

Pokud vás zajímá, jak probíhají samotné turnaje tak zde máte pár reportů.

Takže se zatím mějte a v dalším článku si můžeme třeba rozebrat další oblíbené strategie, ovšem až poté co podrobně projdeme celou novou sadu War of the Spark, která je našlapaná hromadou skvělých karet.

Jsem rád za každý článek, který se tady na CMUSu objeví. Obzvlášť o EDH, které mám rád. Jestli můžu mít připomínku, tak by bylo dobré trochu rozlišit o jaké formě EDH autor píše. Jestli jde o hobby commander (tak na mě působí začátek článku)? Nebo o multiplayer (který podporují wizards)? Competitive Duel Commander (na který se odkazuje v reportech z turnajů)? Nebo competitive MTGO Commander? Ten článek je "univerzální" průřez všeho, což ale podle mě není úplně dobře. Když vezmu konkrétní příklad, tak asi není ideální propagovat v dubnu 2019 generála Tasigura, který má na Duel Commanderu BAN a zároveň lákat reportama z turnaje Duel Commanderu (dtto platí i pro decklist Breyi). Slušilo by se poznamenat, že archetypy jako "lifegain", "equipment" a "+1/+1" jsou sice oblíbené, ale nejsou to obecně dobré balíčky na turnaje formátu Duel Commander. Tedy na formu EDH, která se turnajově v ČR hraje nejvíce (ne-li úplně výhradně). Článek může zavést začínajícího hráče EDH do slepé uličky tím, že si už na začátku pořídí nevhodný balík pro svou potřebu (zbytečně vyhozený čas a peníze). Snad jsem autora článku svým komentářem příliš nezdeptal :-) - je to čistě můj subjektivní pohled k zamyšlení. Je fajn že články o MTG píšeš. Díkes za něj i všem tady na CMUSU. ;-)
